Field trip to Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz

This was a fun and educating trip. We caught a wet, rainy day, so the butterflies were clustering high up in the eucalyptus trees, trying to keep warm and dry. We looked at the caterpillar garden and saw cocoons. Inside the educational center a guide, with the active help of some parents, explained the life cycle of a monarch butterfly. ... being a caterpillar was hilarious ...
